I have been using the Stanley Fatmax Pro Box level for the last two weeks. So far, I am impressed with it. The normal level that I use is a Stabila 96-2 which is more expensive level by about £15. The vials on the Stanley level are large and easy to read, they are clearer than the Stabila ones. I was sceptical about the hand holes in the Stanley level, but having now used them, they are useful to have and help with holding the level against walls. The Stanley level does have small rubber grips at the ends to help stabilise it on plastered walls/MDF etc. This is the only area where it looses out to the Stabila level as the Stabila ones are larger and more grippy. They are also removable for when you want to draw a line right into a corner. Both levels come with a lifetime warranty. I've used the Stabila one without issue but hope not to have to use the Stanley one! In conclusion, both levels are very good, however the Stanley one is cheaper and easier to view so pips the Stabila to the post. I'd happily recommend it.

Top Tip: Buy the best tools you can afford as they will make the job significantly easier.

I arrieved home to find I was lucky enough to be chosen to test the fatmax level. the first thing I noticed about it was how nice looking the level was finished in chrome(I know this isn't really important but its nice to look the part on site) over the 3 weeks ive had it ive used it on a number of tasks ranging from setting my brick profiles ,up righting stud work walls to tilling a bathroom and it passed every test with flying colours .the level is not to heavy but feels very sterdy and the vials are large and easy to see even in bright sun light.i normally use a stabila level and this is just as good and at half the price I would definitely recommend this level!

Top Tip: always buy a case for your level to prolong life

My Stanley level arrived and i put it straight to use, in my job working as a plumber/pipe fitter i needed something that was robust and unto the job, the conditions i work in are muddy, wet, and my other tools are prone to breaking and rusting very quickly. i started to use the level and quickly i noticed how easier it was to see the improved size of the vials that this level has, the levels coating made it easier to clean and preserve better than other levels that i have had, definitely five stars for this stanley well done indeed. i have now disposed of my other levels as this one is the tops.

Top Tip: Anyone who is considering buying a level get this you will never regret it.
